Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery/porcelain with lacquer and pure metallic golden powder. The philosophy behind this technique is to treat the repair as part of the object’s history as opposed to treating the repair as something to hide as if it never happened.
But pure gold can be a little pricey! In this workshop we'll be using different materials including mica powder and epoxy glue for a DIY spin on this ancient technique!
If you have some treasured pieces of broken porcelain or ceramic you would like to bring along and bring back to life, please do. There will be other pieces to chose from on the day.
All materials included, morning tea also included.
