Lambs wool 8 ply cone. Beautiful natural NZ wool. The perfect knitting yarn and so durable!
Palliser Ridge shears 6000 ewes twice a year, and 6000 lambs once a year. This equates to roughly 30,000kgs of wool heading off Farm annually. Our Farm is one of the many New Zealand Sheep Operations who both supply and sharehold in Wools of New Zealand, a company hands on with marketing our Wool products both domestically and overseas. The wool that is taken off of our lambs is around the 29 micron mark, which tells us it’s better suited for products such as clothing, like jerseys and socks as well as insulation and also carpet. Wool is a product with a large number of benefits, health and otherwise. It’s a natural solution when insulating the house and carpeting the home. Its a breathable fabric and perfect for young and old alike to stay warm in the colder months. It’s also a New Zealand produced alternative to many imported products. We are excited to introduce our very own Palliser Ridge Lamb’s Wool, grown naturally down in the South Wairarapa of New Zealand. Taken from our latest lamb shear and sent to the Hawkes Bay Wool Scours, our lambs wool is then spun into yarn by our friends at Woolyarns in Wellington. This Palliser Ridge Lamb’s Wool is perfect for outer garments such as blankets, cardigans and jerseys, scarves, hats and much more. Available in ‘Natural’ coloured 8 ply yarn, on 1.25kg cones, ready for your next knitting project. For the best at home care of your woolen creations, we recommend hand washing or in your washing machine on a gentle wool cycle in a garment bag. Another great tip is to wash your newly made item before wear to release the lanolin and increase the softness!
